Amber Rose says screw societal norms when it comes to raising her five year old little boy.
The model has received a lot of heat lately since she shared with the world that she allows her five year old son, Sebastian, to curse with no consequences. This is definitely not something you would hear the average mom say, but Rose admits that she’d much rather her son say “f-ck” than the “N-word,” which is a term the kindergartner learned from his rapper dad, Wiz Khalifa .
Rose told US Weekly “I let my son curse in the house because it’s a form of expression.” Kids like to curse, the former ex-girlfriend of Kanye West explains. She adds the disclaimer that she warns her son to only curse when “it’s appropriate and not to say it at school. That’s it.”
This is not the first time the mom has been questioned for her parenting skills of the son she shares with ex-husband. Rose is known for defying gender norms and has become a major advocate for freedom of expression. This was evident when the mom posted a photo of Sebastian getting his nails done and included the caption “We encourage our children to paint, draw and be creative so why block them from their creativity when it comes to self expression? Fuck society standards and gender roles! Let your children be great!”
Though I don’t know if I would personally allow my five year old son to curse, I commend Amber Rose for breaking away from gender roles and social constructs and allowing her son to truly express himself in a non judgmental household. This is truly the mindset all parents should acquire in order to create love and acceptance around the world.
