[ENTERTAINMENT] ‘VERONICA MARS’ IS COMING BACK TO HULU

“A long time ago we used to be friends but I haven’t thought of you lately at all” begins the theme song for “Veronica Mars” the CW teen detective show that ran from 2004-2007 and had a theatrical reboot in 2014.

In a post on her Instagram, Kristen Bell announced not only that all episodes of “Veronica Mars” would be available on Hulu, but that she and series creator Rob Thomas would be creating new episodes for the streaming service.

The original three seasons of the show followed Veronica working with her private eye father to solve the murder of her best friend as she helped her wealthy classmates with her detective skills. The show was cancelled after its third season, which followed Veronica to college.

In 2014, fans donated to a Kickstarter page which funded the big screen “Veronica Mars” movie, which followed her as she went to her high school reunion to help prove her ex-boyfriend’s innocence in a murder investigation.

Bell captioned her announcement video “Attention all Marshmallows: BREAKING NEWS!!!!!We are OFFICIALLY back in business!!! A new #veronicamars series is coming back, on @hulu !!!! Veronica has always been a super hero without a Cape. And I think shes exactly what the world needs right now. Thank you to all my fellow marshmallows who stayed excited. Thank you to @hulu for the opportunity. I hope we’re still friends after I taser I you.”

The reboot of “Veronica Mars” is set to debut on Hulu at some point in 2019.
