If Young Metro don’t trust you imma shot you, its relaxing hearing that again on an opening track.
This must have been a calling from God because were receiving a nice packaged Metro Boomin project this past week. After hinting towards retirement earlier this year we havent heard anything from the zone 6 producer until now. Popping back up on the scene with an 13 track album ” Not ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES”, Metro puts together a star-studded cast with Gucci Mane, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Gunna, Swae Lee and many others throughout the album. Metro definitely been brewing this project together for a while because literally every tracks beat is fire and that’s an understatement. Many producers try to release projects of their own or try to team up with artist for joint projects but Metro has the blueprint for it.
This project will bring fans of all kinds together, not only are artist like 21 Savage, Travis Scott, and Gunna the highlight of the album, but we also get a glimpse of “Slime Season” Thugger on “Up to Something”, and ” Lesbian” (FT. Gunna), like “Barter 6” was fine but nothing is topping Slime Season Thug. Travis Scott and Metro must have a bromance behind the scenes because he is littered thought the project making appearances on 5 tracks, which is why Travis feels overused on ” Overdue“, Travis has been on a run in 2018 proving this is his year without question. 21 Savage makes a couple of appearances though out the album but nothing will top his already famous whispering verse on “Dont Come Out the House“, making fun of various rappers while threatening people as usually. Get high and listen to “Space Cadet”(Ft. Gunna) and you tell me Gunna not primed to not only run the game but have multiple people try to bite his flow. Gunna flow makes any beat sound mesmerizing and you will get caught in his hypnosis. I really hope Swae Lee and Travis arent beefing because their chemistry and vibe on ” Dreamcatcher” makes you yearn for more music from these two. This track is definitely a late night car ride or cyph session kind of music with Swae Lee melodic voice.
Metro made his return and we should be grateful for it and hope he doesn’t take another long hiatus, or maybe we should pray he does again if the results will be like this. Every track goes on this album without question with every kind of vibe being pleased.Metro is the unquestioned #1 producer in the game with only Tay Keith ( who also makes an appearance on the album) coming in a close 2nd, while also primed for his run to start soon. Not much to dislike from this project, amazing replay value and cohesive 5 outta 5 from me.
