[MUSIC] Radio stations won’t play Michael Jackson’s music after ‘Leaving Neverland

Radio stations around the world banned Michael Jackson’s music. The decision was made after HBO released ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary. His music is ban from Australia, New Zealand, and Canada. As a right now, more radio stations over the world are taking the same steps to stop playing his music. However, some stations are fighting back because they don’t want to pull the late singer’s music from the lineups.

In Montreal, three major stations stopped playing the artist’s music as a result of child abuse. The documentary aired Sunday in HBO, and it starts with the victims talking about how Jackson portrayed himself. The film includes the victim’s parents talking about all the factors that contributed to this tragedy. A lot of stations pulled Jackson’s music Monday morning.

Leaving Neverland/ HBO

Leaving Neverland first premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival. The film gives details the abuse allegations of the kids ‘who had previously denied Jackson molested them when the two were children’ (CBC, 2019).
