New Yalee single “Momma Sorrows” features his Mom + pays homage to Nipsey Hussle, Junior

YALEE

It’s a Yalee world and this isn’t the “Yalee” we thought we knew. Dropping his new album 1V1(You VS. The World) it’s safe to say Yalee is back and here to stay. Known for his hit single “Pretty Girl Dance” and the remix “Pretty Girl Dance Pt.2” featuring New Jersey rapper Fetty Wap, the Ohio raised R&B/HipHop artist has the industry in a frenzy. Yalee took his album to the next level making it not only easy listening to the ears, but creating a visual to the mind.

“RIP to Junior, RIP XXX, RIP to Nipsey. Damn who’s next?”-Yalee

Nipsey Hussle, Junior Guzman, the young 15 year old boy who was brutally stabbed in the Bronx by gang members, and XXXtencion’s murders all have one thing in common, their deaths hit different. The single “Momma Sorrows” which pays homage to the young lives taken before their time features Yalee’s mother, who is a phenomenal Gospel singer. The movie aired today, Thursday October 24th and when I tell you I cried, I mean I cried. I called it a movie because that’s exactly what I thought I was watching. This wasn’t your average music video with bling, fancy cars, or strippers, this was a video that told a story, a video that portrayed the hardship of losing someone you love sooner than expected. It was a message to start showing how much you care for a person while their alive rather than when their six feet under. The young soon-to-be legend’s song hit and it hit hard.

When asking him what inspired the song he replied, “I wanted to put my mother on a song with me, she’s been asking and with everything going on in the world I felt like this was the moment to really shine light on Mothers, the women who have carried us for 9 months and the ones that have to deal with the passing of their children.” Now living in New York City, Yalee continued to say how the late rappers, and young teens death really took a toll on him and wanted to start putting out music to inspire the youth, rather than corrupt their minds. The younger generation is all we have, nowadays music is mostly about drugs, gangs, and how you should be acting instead of simply being yourself. “Momma Sorrows” is an anthem, a battle cry for change before it’s too late.

We can’t wait for the next single. Go gettem’ Yalee!
