OBJ To Miss First Game Of 2018
When the New York Giants attempt to avoid a season sweep at the hands of the Washington Redskins on Sunday, they’ll be doing so without their top pass catcher.
Odell Beckham Jr. will miss Sunday’s matchup at FedEx Field vs. the Washington Redskins with a bruised quadriceps injury.
The move comes as a bit of a surprise as news about Beckham’s status throughout the week appeared checked off and that he would be able to play in this game.
Beckham Jr. played a big role in New York’s 30-27 overtime victory over the Chicago Bears at MetLife Stadium — with his arm.
The Giants wide receiver threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to fellow wideout Russell Shepard to give New York a 17-14 lead in the third quarter. He later caught a touchdown pass in the game and finished with three receptions for 35 yards.
Beckham Jr. has 77 receptions for 1,052 receiving yards and six touchdowns this season.
