Magny-Ponzinibbio Main Event Set
The UFC will make its first visit to Argentina on Saturday as Neil Magny (21-6, 15-4 UFC) collides with Santiago Ponzinibbio (26-3, 8-2 UFC) in a five-round welterweight main event matchup at the Parque Roca Arena, in Buenos Aires.
.After Friday morning’s weigh-ins, fans will be treated to this pivotal matchup between ranked UFC contenders as both fighters made weight.
Neil Magny, who last fought in May when he knocked out UFC newcomer Craig White in the first round, stepped on the scales at 171 pounds. Santiago Ponizinbbio, who is fighting in his homeland of Argentina on Saturday night, weighed in at 171 pounds as well.
All but one fighter made weight as strawweight contender Cynthia Calvillo weighed in two pounds over the strawweight limit at 118 pounds, and therefore will have to give 20 percent of her fight purse away to her opponent Poliana Botelho.
